What an incredible weekend! 🌟

A couple of weeks ago, we hosted the C-Wise Dwellingup 100 and the Mighty Jarrah Trail Run. The rain certainly made an appearance, but it didn’t dampen the spirit of our riders, runners, staff, or volunteers. The energy, determination, and community support made the day truly unforgettable.

A huge thank you to everyone who was part of it – we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

As we power through 2025, it’s always worth pausing to reflect on the journey so far – and what a year it’s been!

This year, the Event Team has had the privilege of managing five major events, each one selling out and breaking participation records:

🏊‍♂️ Busselton Jetty Swim – bringing thousands together for one of WA’s most iconic open-water swims.
🏝 Rottnest Channel Swim – a world-famous challenge connecting swimmers with the beauty of Rottnest Island.
🚤 Port to Pub – a massive endurance swim with an incredible community spirit.
🏃‍♀️ HBF Run for a Reason – uniting tens of thousands of runners and walkers in the heart of Perth for a great cause.
🚴‍♂️ Backroads Gravel – celebrating the Midwest with WA’s largest gravel ride and trail run. with the first ever WA State Gravel Championships!

None of this would be possible without the incredible contractors, volunteers, staff, crew, clients, sponsors, and our dedicated team who pour their time, skill, and energy into every detail. You make these moments happen.

Behind every starting gun and finish line is months of planning, teamwork, and passion – and we’re so proud to help make these events the best they can be for participants, communities, and spectators alike.

If the first half of the year is anything to go by, the rest of 2025 is going to be huge. Let’s see what’s next! 🚀

We’re incredibly proud to share that our very own C-Wise @dwellingup100 and @mightyjarrahtrailrun Course Director, @tucknotttony, has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his outstanding service to mountain biking! 🏅🚵‍♂️

For decades, Tony has poured his passion and expertise into the sport, and he’s a key force behind making our courses some of the best in Australia.

This incredible honour celebrates individuals who’ve made a massive impact on the sport of triathlon, and Budge has done just that—organising over 200 events, including state, national and world championships, and growing the sport right here in WA. 🙌💪

A huge congratulations also goes out to Mark Pringle and Royce Fairbrother for receiving this prestigious achievement alongside Budge. 🥳👏

🌈 PERTH MAKES THE TOP 3 FOR GAY GAMES 2030! 🌈

We’re beyond proud to have played a role in supporting Pride WA through the bid process—and the journey isn’t over yet!

Perth has officially advanced to the Top 3 contenders to host the world’s largest LGBTQIA+ sporting event, the Gay Games 2030! This is a monumental step for our city and community.

If successful, Perth will welcome over 10,000 participants from around the world, celebrating our vibrant LGBTQIA+ sports culture and delivering an incredible economic and cultural boost for WA.

Bid Co-Chairs Dr. Lauren (Laurie) Butterly, Michael Felix, and Catherine Janssen are feeling the excitement:
“Perth’s bid is built from the ground up, driven by our local LGBTQIA+ sporting teams. We’re eager to share our dynamic, inclusive, and welcoming community with the world.”

Pride WA, with support from Team Perth, the Event Team, our amazing inclusive sports clubs, Retravision, and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, has made this achievement possible.

The final decision is set for 2026, but Perth is already shining. Let’s make history together! 💪✨

✨ Shannan Gove from Rosterfy, who took us through Rosterfy’s rise from a start-up to a top 20 growth company and the latest trends in volunteering.
✨ Ben Muldoon from Race Roster, presenting valuable insights on industry trends and event data.
✨ Pat Barrett, founder and CEO of ECAL, unveiling the new National Mass Participation Events Calendar.

The day wrapped up with an engaging risk management and event security case study tour at Marvel Stadium. 🏟️
