MEET THE TEAM
The Event Team boasts some of Australia’s most experienced event professionals.
Dave is widely regarded as Perth’s leading event management professional, with more than 20 years’ experience delivering mass participation and community events at all levels.
As Managing Director of TriEvents, Dave has overseen operations for the Rottnest Channel Swim for the past 10 years; developed and delivered the HBF Run for a Reason, Perth’s largest fun run for the past nine years; provided operations for the SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon since 2001; he was Event Director for the 2016 World Masters Athletics Championships; he has developed and delivered a range of his own events including an annual triathlon series for 17 years; and he has been integral in delivering many of WA’s largest mass participation events including the City to Surf, Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma, the Red Bull Wings for Life Relay and the RAC Channel 7 Christmas Pageant.

Gemma leads The Event Team with a background in project and sponsorship management. Her expertise lies in creating and executing plans with particular reference to fulfilling contractual obligations. As the Managing Director of The Event Team, Gemma oversees all event delivery, ensuring the highest standards of delivery and client satisfaction. She also makes sure all the bills get paid!
RISK & COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Bob Welch OAM is highly regarded as a foremost professional in risk management for community events. Bob regularly presents on the subject of risk management to a range of stakeholder groups including local government, state sporting associations, TAFE and university students. He has over 30 years’ experience as a sports association executive plus more than 10 years’ experience in the events industry.
A young event professional, Briar already has a proven track record in event administration. Principally responsible for processes such as event registration, timing management, merchandise orders, sales and distribution, race packing and distribution, event presentations and volunteer and workforce management, Briar’s attention to detail is meticulous and her skills and knowledge across event administration are second to none.
Max brings a variety of experience to The Event Team with a background in event and sponsorship management. Originally from the UK, Max developed his skills working in Formula 1, Cricket and Tennis before moving to Perth in 2015. Since then Max has worked on some of WA’s largest events such as HBF Run for a Reason and RAC Perth Caravan and Camping Show as well as managing the rebrand of Perth Arena.
As a founder of the RegisterNow online registration system, Matt brings 20 years of event experience, knowledge and skills to The Event Team. Working as an external consultant, Matt acts as a great sounding board and voice of reason for the rest of the Team!
