One of Western Australia's premier gravel events — five ride distances and four run distances on the backroads of Chapman Valley. The biggest mass-participation sporting event in the Mid West.
Backroads Gravel is supported by the WA Government through Tourism WA and Royalties for Regions.
Backroads is the biggest mass participation sporting event in the Mid West. The event officially sold out for 2026 again, with over 1,500 participants taking part in the biggest Backroads Gravel yet.
Nine distances between the bike and the trail, all starting and finishing at Mazzuchelli Oval, Nabawa. Enter both on one registration with the Gravel Double.
The event sits inside a whole weekend of riding, eating and hanging around a country oval with other people enjoying their weekend away.
Start, finish, food, coffee, bike wash, the bar, results and presentations — all on one country oval.
Red gravel roads, breakaway ranges, wheat, canola & lupin paddocks, and the Moresby Ranges on the horizon.
Local clubs and community groups run the aid stations, marshal the corners and feed a thousand hungry riders and runners.
