Mountain biker riding singletrack through jarrah forest at Dwellingup

Since 2009.

How an idea pitched over a conversation became the largest single-day mountain bike event in Australia.

18 Years in the Making

Few people know the Dwellingup 100 better than Tony Tucknott.

Tony has been part of The Event Team (and TriEvents) since 2009, when he first approached Dave Budge with an idea: to create a genuine marathon mountain bike event in the forests around Dwellingup.

That idea has grown into something much bigger.

For almost two decades, Tony has been at the heart of the Dwellingup 100, overseeing the course design, route development and year-round maintenance that have become such an important part of the event's reputation. His knowledge of the Dwellingup trails, combined with an unwavering commitment to getting the course right, has helped create a race that challenges experienced riders while remaining welcoming to riders of all ages and abilities.

But the Dwellingup 100 is much more than a great mountain bike course.

Over 18 years, The Event Team has built, managed, marketed and evolved the event into one of Western Australia's most respected mass-participation sporting events. From permits, logistics and safety to communications, volunteers, suppliers, athlete services and the thousands of details that have to come together on race day, it is a year-round team effort.

Today, the C-Wise Dwellingup 100 stands as Australia's premier and largest one-day mountain bike race, with a proud history stretching back almost two decades. Generations of riders have taken on the challenge, creating a unique community around the event that brings elite competitors, weekend warriors, first-timers, families and young riders together in the same spectacular jarrah forest.

And it isn't just about two wheels anymore.

The Event Team's introduction of the Mighty Jarrah Trail Run has added a whole new dimension to the event, bringing runners into the forest alongside the mountain bike community. What started as a mountain bike race has evolved into a celebration of trail sport and the great outdoors — bringing riders, runners, families, supporters and even a few four-legged friends together in Dwellingup.

Now proudly presented by C-Wise, the Dwellingup 100 and Mighty Jarrah Trail Run continue to be delivered by The Event Team — the team behind some of Australia's biggest and best-known participation events, including the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim, HBF Run for a Reason and Backroads Gravel.

At its heart, though, the “D100” remains true to the idea Tony had all those years ago: a great course, a great challenge and an event that gives people a reason to get out onto the trails and have a crack.

Eighteen years later, that idea is still riding (and running) strong.
